The short answer
Gym Junksters hauls junk in Sunrise: the kitchen and bathroom tear-outs the city refuses, plus furniture, appliances and Sunrise Lakes condo cleanouts, same day or next day. Sunrise takes no remodeling, demolition or concrete material at the curb at any volume, so it leaves on a truck. Free quote on site: (954) 774-0277.

Why we are in Sunrise most weeks
Sunrise is a 20 to 25 minute run west on University Drive or the Sawgrass, and one rule drives most of the calls. The city will not accept construction, remodeling or demolition debris at the curb, and it refuses contractor-generated debris outright. Every kitchen, bathroom or flooring tear-out here needs a truck, no matter how small the pile.
The houses here, and what they do to a job
Sunrise Golf Village is the original 1960s and 70s core: single-story CBS homes along canals, with carports, low soffits and screened patios that turn an appliance, a hot tub or a home gym into a hand-carry through the house. Sunrise Lakes is a large 55+ community of low- and mid-rise condo buildings.
What Sunrise bulk pickup will and will not take
The rules, as Sunrise publishes them
The City of Sunrise Public Service Division provides bulk trash collection once per week, and single-family residents get bulk on the first day of their weekly garbage collection. Bulk means household items: couches, chairs, mattresses, tables, appliances, carpeting, fencing and large yard waste. Items go curbside no later than 7 a.m. on your bulk day and no earlier than 7 p.m. the previous evening, and may not be placed on, near or against mailboxes, utility poles or fences. All doors must be removed from refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and similar appliances before curbside placement. Trimmings and small branches belong in the 95-gallon cart; larger vegetation is only taken on bulk day. The city will NOT accept construction, remodeling or demolition debris, including all concrete materials and bricks or brickwork, and contractor-generated debris is refused outright.

Where the free pickup runs out
The weekly household bulk here is decent. What it refuses is absolute: every scrap of remodeling, demolition and concrete material, and anything a contractor generated, however small the pile. That is a tear-out or a torn-down fence with no curbside route at all.

Sunrise junk removal questions
Sunrise took my sofa but left the tile. Why?
Because the city separates household bulk from construction material and refuses the second category completely: remodeling and demolition debris, all concrete materials, bricks and brickwork. There is no volume small enough to slip through. Construction and renovation debris removal is the route for that load, priced by weight rather than volume.
Do the doors really have to come off the refrigerator?
For the curb, yes. Sunrise requires doors removed from refrigerators, washers, dryers and stoves before they are set out. If we are taking it, no: the unit goes out whole on a dolly and the refrigerant recovery is handled in the disposal chain. See appliance removal.
